Dr. Nihar Ranjan Jena is a faculty member of Economics at School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Management (SHSSM) at IIT Bhubaneswar. Prior to his engagement with IIT Bhubaneswar, Dr. Jena has worked in the corporate sector and with the Government in various capacities including in the areas of Business Planning, Policy making, Financial Administration, and Financial Management, Training and Teaching on aspects relating to Public Procurement, Financial Propriety, etc.

Dr. Jena has completed his Graduation with Economics Honours from Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Odisha and is the recipient of University Gold Medal for securing first position in the consolidated merit list. Subsequently, Dr. Jena has received his Master’s degree in Economics from University of Hyderabad and his Ph.D. degree in Economics from University of Mumbai. His doctoral work was on the importance of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises to the Indian Economy.
